One of the countries bordering the Empire of Sunilian States, this alpine republic entirely surrounds the Sunilian provinces of Ma Greb and Ober Auweia. Sunilia maintains a favorable view of Austria, thanks at least in part to shared customs, history, language, culture and the geographical closeness. The relation is so close that Austrian German is one of the two official languages in Sunilia, while German German is not considered an official language.
Austria used to be at the heart of the mighty Austro-Hungarian empire, which served as a role model for the formation of the short-lived Sunilian-Seabourg Double Nation. However, the Austrian Empire’s capacity to unify a wide variety of different ethnicities under a single crown (and the formation of a “council of ethnicities” to resolve disputes) continues to serve as a base for the Sunilian way of unifying vastly different people peacefully.
