Imperial Decree on Coat Hangers in Restrooms
Issued by the Emperor, Linus the I. of Sunilia, via the Imperial Ministry for Internal Affairs
Released from Bencia, Capital of the Empire of Sunilian States
By Imperial decree,
Emperor of the Empire of Sunilian States, Linus the I., has declared the following:
Recent visits to cultural institutions in the capital city of Germany, Berlin, have once again called to my awareness an issue which appears to be endemic throughout such venues: the notable absence of coat hangers in the restrooms. Considering that these houses consider themselves the places at which the highest levels of cultural perfection are displayed, and which wish to attract people of importance from both near and afar, this is a rather surprising omission.
Therefore, I, Linus the I., have decided to once more ensure that Sunilia act not just as an example to the world as a whole, but also that the standard of living in our great country remains at the high level it is currently at, and that the Empire of Sunilian States will continue to have an overall edge in development over the rest of the world, that:
All Sunilian institutions which wish to call themselves “institutions of culture”, “cultured institutions”, “houses of culture”, “cultural venues”, et cetera, must provide coat hangers within the cabins of their restrooms. These coat hangers must be mounted in a height which is sufficient to prevent long coats from touching the ground and hence becoming contaminated with dust and other material. Further, these coat hangers are to be positioned in a convenient location that does not limit the overall functionality and convenience of the bathroom stall. Venues which fail to implement such measures will no longer have the privilege of referring to themselves, or being referred to by others, as “cultural institutions” (or comparable titles). Failure to follow this imperial decree may result in the revoking of rights to perform or display Sunilian works or certain artists, and in severe cases can lead to an official ban on all public activity of the institution until the shortcoming is rectified.
This imperial decree goes into effect on Monday, the 4th of June 2018 at 00:00 SSST (Sunilian Standard Summer Time).
