2020.03.24: Sunilia and Coronavirus: What you need to know

 The Empire of Sunilian States has been watching with great concern the emergence of a global health crisis due to the emergence of a novel coronavirus (COVID-19) originating from the unsanitary conditions of a wet market in the Chinese city of Wuhan. It has also seen with concern the delayed and often inadequate or misplaced reactions by the international community. While the Empire of Sunilian States’ provinces have been acting individually and highly effectively to do their part in combatting the spread of this pandemic, this communication will outline a national response to this threat.

Currently, there are no confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19 in the Empire of Sunilian States or among its citizens abroad.

By imperial decree, the Imperial Ministry for Internal Affairs (KMfI) has created the Office of Public Health, which has been tasked with all matter pertaining to the physical and mental well-being of Sunilian citizens and residents. It will be leading Sunilia’s response to the coronavirus pandemic under the guidance of the Emperor Linus I.

Trade within Sunilia as well as internationally has not been affected.

The supply of essential goods and medicines remains ensured in all Sunilian provinces.

Citizens and residents of Sunilia are advised to keep informed about the situation, and practice self-isolation when necessary; avoid unnecessary contact with individuals who may be infected or who may have had contact with infected people.

The borders of the Empire of Sunilian States remain open and immigration/emigration procedures continue as normal. Travelers may be questioned about their health and temperatures be taken on immigration.
