Recently, Sunilia declared the world’s smallest nature reserve, which also happens to be the smallest national park of the world. Being Sunilia’s second nature reserve, it came together with the formation of the new Bureau for Nature & Environment as a part of Sunilia’s plan to even further increase efforts for conversation and preservation of the natural environment throughout the world.
Apart from this largely symbolic nature reserve which is located in the capital, Bencia, Sunilia also bought a part of the temperate rain forest of Western Canada as part of a larger conservation effort for the forest.
This latest nature reserve, as is only fitting for a micronation, is – at 10 by 10 centimeters – the world’s smallest.
Though the absolute impact is rather negligible, the symbolic value is much more significant, and Sunilia is setting an example for micronations, proper nations and individuals alike. Showing that every small effort makes a difference, and that together mankind is able to make a difference and start being more responsible in taking care of the incredible and unique planet we live on. If everyone contributes even just a bit to the global effort of helping the only known planet with life maintain its incredible diversity, great things can be achieved.
