Sunilia declared its independancy in 2011 because of individual political ideas. At first the nation had about 0.00003km², only having the territory of today’s capital Bencia. The actual Sunilia soon increased in size through diplomatic decisions. By 2013, it had reached 0.0004km². In 2014, the People’s Republic of Seabourg was founded as a crown dependancy of Sunilia. Then, Sunilia was officially considered the “Sunilian/Seabourg double nation”. After this increase in territory, the nation was already at 0.364km² – today’s size. Due to constantly worsening relations between Sunilia and the PR Seabourg, the double nation ceased to exist in early 2015. However, the PR Seabourg remains a crown dependancy of Sunilia, and therefore the Sunilian Empire counts the land of the PR Seabourg to its own.
With the formation of the double monarchy, the political system of Sunilia got much more complex – even though Seabourg is a crown dependancy of Sunilia, it governs its self, and is de facto a People’s Republic. The “double nation” was formed after the example of Austria and Hungary, who had a double monarchy that worked fairly well (until WW I).
In Seabourg, due to the many ethnic groups and high population denisty of the city Seeberg (in Seabourg), there are frequent, usually minor, civil conflicts. And there are international disputes between Germany and Seabourg now and then, especially regarding construction pr0jects of infrastructure.
